Google has introduced new personalization features for its Gemini AI assistant, allowing users to customize their chatbot experience like never before. The update, launched in experimental mode, aims to make Gemini more intuitive by integrating with users’ search history and Google apps.
Key Gemini AI Personalization Features
- Search History Integration – Users can now opt-in to let Gemini access their Google Search history, enabling the AI to offer more relevant responses and recommendations based on past searches.
- App Connectivity – Gemini can now connect to Google’s ecosystem, including Calendar, Notes, Tasks, and Photos, providing a seamless AI-driven experience across multiple tools.
- Custom AI Assistants (Gems) – Google is expanding access to Gems, a feature that allows users to create a personal AI expert tailored to specific topics and needs.
Google’s Push to Dominate AI Innovation
These enhancements come as Google intensifies its efforts to compete in the rapidly evolving AI landscape. In December, DeepMind co-founder Demis Hassabis urged teams to “turbocharge” Gemini, making consumer adoption a top priority in 2024.
Additionally, Google recently launched Gemma 3, an open-source AI model designed for developers building AI applications. The company claims it’s the “world’s best single-accelerator model,” capable of running efficiently on a single GPU.
Introducing Advanced AI Models: Gemini Robotics & Gemini Robotics-ER
Alongside these updates, Google debuted two new AI models:
- Gemini Robotics
- Gemini Robotics-ER (Extended Reasoning)
Both models run on Gemini 2.0, which Google describes as its “most capable” AI system to date.
As competition heats up, particularly with Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, Google continues to scale Gemini’s capabilities, solidifying its position in the AI industry. With these latest enhancements, Gemini is evolving into a truly personalized, intelligent assistant for everyday use.
