Fans of The Kelly Clarkson Show have been left wondering about the singer’s extended absence, as guest hosts continue to fill in. Since March 5, Clarkson has not appeared on her popular daytime talk show, with no official statement addressing the reason behind her departure.
Guest Hosts Step In for Kelly Clarkson
On Wednesday, Morning Joe co-host Willie Geist took over as guest host, acknowledging Clarkson’s absence. “I am very much not Kelly Clarkson, and I’m sorry for that,” he joked, before introducing Marc Broussard to open the show.
Clarkson’s absence first became noticeable on March 3, when Shang-Chi star Simu Liu stepped in at the last minute. Liu admitted he had little preparation, saying, “I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie, Last Breath.”
A Brief Return, Then Another Disappearance
Clarkson briefly returned on March 4 and March 5 but did not perform her signature Kellyoke segment, instead airing a pre-recorded performance. Since then, guest hosts have kept the show running, including Roy Wood Jr., Wanda Sykes, Josh Groban, and Brooke Shields.
“Kelly’s out for the day, but please don’t worry,” Wood Jr. assured the audience on March 6. Sykes, who co-hosted on March 7, added a lighthearted touch: “There’s nothing I’d rather be doing on my birthday than daytime TV.”
When Will Kelly Clarkson Return?
According to The Kelly Clarkson Show’s official Instagram schedule, Clarkson is not expected to return this week, with Molly Sims set to host on Thursday and Friday.
Fans Express Concern
With no explanation from NBC or Clarkson’s representatives, fans have taken to social media, posting comments such as “Where’s Kelly???” and “Is Kelly OK?” on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter).
As of now, Clarkson’s absence remains a mystery. Whether due to personal reasons, health concerns, or a planned break, viewers eagerly await an official update from the star or her show’s producers.
