TIME Magazine has unveiled its annual list of the 100 Most Influential People, and among the notable new names is Rosé from global K-pop sensation BLACKPINK.
Now pursuing her solo career more actively, Rosé was listed under the “Pioneers” category—alongside fellow music icons like Ed Sheeran, Hozier, Nicole Scherzinger, and Snoop Dogg. The 28-year-old singer, whose full name is Roséanne Park, expressed her excitement on Instagram after discovering the news.
“Woke up to this truly surprising news,” she wrote on her Instagram Story (@roses_are_rosie), sharing a screenshot of the TIME article.
The accompanying TIME piece was written by actress Lily Collins, who described herself as a devoted BLACKPINK fan. Reflecting on their meeting at the Saint Laurent fashion show in Paris in 2024, Lily praised Rosé’s grace and warmth amidst the chaos of flashing cameras and high-profile guests.
“She was so sweet and calm in the middle of that madness. We ended up talking the entire evening about fashion, architecture, food, and travel,” Lily shared. “We clicked instantly, and have become close ever since.”
Lily also commended Rosé’s artistry, calling her a “true pop icon and boss.” She added, “Her voice is powerful, and her music brings such joy. I always message her when I hear APT. or Toxic Till the End on the radio.”
Rosé responded with heartfelt gratitude, sharing Lily’s tribute in her Instagram Story and admitting she was moved to tears by the kind words.
Since BLACKPINK’s group contract with YG Entertainment ended, Rosé has been thriving as a solo artist. Her debut solo album, Rosie, released late last year, was a commercial success and made its way onto the Billboard 200 chart.
Her hit duet with Bruno Mars, titled APT., has become a long-standing favorite on the Billboard Hot 100 and amassed over 1 billion views on YouTube. With its flirty lyrics and catchy melody, the track continues to dominate airwaves.
Rosé’s fellow BLACKPINK members—Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo—are also busy forging their individual paths. Lisa recently made her acting debut in HBO’s The White Lotus, Jisoo returned to television with the Korean drama Newtopia, and Jennie is actively promoting her latest album, Ruby.
