Disney Illusion Island Goes Multi-Platform: Coming to PS5, Xbox, and PC on May 30, 2025

Popular Platformer Leaves Nintendo Switch Exclusivity

Disney Illusion Island, the vibrant 2D platformer starring Mickey Mouse and friends, is officially expanding beyond its Nintendo Switch exclusivity. Launching on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 30, 2025, the game will now reach a broader gaming audience eager for family-friendly co-op adventures.

Originally released on the Switch in July 2023, Disney Illusion Island was developed by Dlala Studios and published by Disney Games. It features classic Disney characters—Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy—on a side-scrolling journey through Monoth Island, packed with puzzles, enemies, and platforming challenges. With support for up to four-player local co-op, it’s a perfect game for multiplayer fans of all ages.

New DLC and Physical Edition Announced

The multi-platform version of Disney Illusion Island will launch with all existing free DLCs, including Keeper Up and Mystery in Monoth, plus a brand-new downloadable content pack called C.A.S.H. (Cave Adventuring Scavenger Hunt). The highlight? The introduction of Scrooge McDuck as a playable character. This content will also be available for Switch players, keeping the experience consistent across platforms.

Additionally, a physical edition of the game will launch on May 30 in North America and June 27 in Europe, priced at $29.99 USD, complete with a bonus poster. This edition will be available exclusively for PS5 and Xbox consoles.

Nintendo Fans Still Have More to Look Forward To

While the move to a multi-platform release reduces the list of Nintendo Switch exclusives, fans of the hybrid console need not worry. Nintendo has a strong 2025 lineup, including anticipated titles like Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Pokemon Legends: Z-A, and the rumored Switch 2 launch with games like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Kirby Air Riders.

Will Multi-Platform Expansion Improve Reception?

By going multi-platform, Disney Illusion Island is expected to benefit from increased visibility and sales. Critics had mixed reviews for the original Switch version, but with new content and broader availability, Dlala Studios and Disney are likely hoping for a more positive reception and stronger commercial success this time around.
