For the first time, Gigi Hadid is sharing insights into her relationship with Bradley Cooper, describing it as “very romantic and happy.”
In a newly published Vogue interview, the 29-year-old model revealed details about their romance, including how they first met—at a backyard birthday party for a mutual friend’s child. Despite their celebrity status, their introduction was refreshingly ordinary.
“I think knowing what you want and deserve in a relationship is essential,” Hadid shared. “Then, to find someone who is at a similar stage in life—where they also know what they want and deserve—and for both of you to work separately to be the best partners you can be… I just feel really lucky.”
Hadid and Cooper, who have been together for over a year, both have children from previous relationships. She shares her 4-year-old daughter, Khai, with ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik, while Cooper is the father of 8-year-old Lea, whom he shares with model Irina Shayk. Looking back, Hadid acknowledged that their connection likely wouldn’t have happened at an earlier stage in her life.
“I respect him so much as a creative,” she said. “He gives me so much—encouragement and belief. When people you admire encourage you, it builds confidence. It makes you think, Why not take that leap?”
While Hadid and Cooper don’t hide their relationship—they’ve been spotted on double dates with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce—she emphasized the importance of keeping certain aspects of their life private.
“You want to have a normal dating experience,” she explained. “Even for my friends who aren’t public figures, that’s hard. Where do you go? How do you meet people? And then, there’s an added layer of privacy and security. You want to trust that people won’t call TMZ or post on Deuxmoi, but you just never know.”
Hadid also addressed the speculation that often surrounds her life, noting that media reports based on unnamed “sources” are often a mix of truth and fiction. “A lot of what gets out there is kind of right and kind of wrong,” she admitted. “But I try to let it go—you can’t correct everything.”
As for her past relationship with Malik, Hadid expressed gratitude for their co-parenting partnership, calling it one of “love and camaraderie.”
“The world thinks it knows everything,” she reflected, possibly referencing the 2021 incident between Malik and her mother, Yolanda Hadid. “At the end of the day, we’re not interested in sharing our full story. What we are focused on is raising our daughter together—with so much respect for each other. Not just as co-parents, but for what we’ve been through together.”
Despite the challenges of public scrutiny, Hadid remains focused on the present, embracing her relationship with Cooper while ensuring that her daughter is surrounded by love and stability.
